The 2019 Rare Drug Development Symposium, held in Philadelphia June 6th and 7th, was hosted by Global Genes and the Orphan Disease Center at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The symposium focused on the drug development process and the role of rare disease advocates.
During the program, MedPanel presented a poster entitled Education and advocacy roadmap for driving collaboration in supporting the rare disease community. The goal of the work was to find ways pharmaceutical companies, patient advocacy groups and healthcare professional could work together to address the challenges faced by the rare disease community.
Education and access to both physician specialists and clinical trials topped the list of areas for collaboration. Have an idea on how we can all better work together? Drop us note, we’d love to explore opportunities!
